FAIRFAX, Va. – The third annual George Mason Giving Day is scheduled for Thursday, April 4, with the goal of bringing #MasonNation together to pledge support for the university.
This year, the theme of Giving Day is "Together, we are Mason" encouraging participation to make any size gift. Alumni, friends and supporters interested in making their mark within the University community are encouraged to participate in the day of giving and support specific projects that resonate with their Mason experience.
Thanks to the great support from Mason Nation, last year Mason Athletics raised more than $98,000 from 288 donors on Giving Day. You can help us exceed those numbers this year.
Within athletics, gifts can be earmarked for an individual Mason team, the student-athlete scholarship fund, the Basketball Excellence Plan, and more. Alumni-athletes also have the option to compete in the ninth annual Alumni-Athlete Giving Challenge, designating their contribution to their specific sport in an effort to earn additional funds.
Alumni-athletes Dan and Patty Wotring have generously donated $5,000 to Mason Athletics to award the sports that meet the following criteria during this year-long competition: Highest Overall Giving Percentage, Most Improved Giving Percentage, Highest Percent of Young Alumni Giving.
Members of Mason Nation can utilize the hashtag #Give2Mason on social media to show their support and encourage others to donate. Individuals also can utilize a Facebook profile picture frame to promote Giving Day. Simply
click here and search "George Mason" to find the Facebook frame.
