FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason baseball team plays its second straight Atlantic 10 road series, facing Richmond in a three-game set with the first game scheduled for 3 p.m. on Friday at Pitt Field in Richmond, Va.
Last time out, Mason (11-12, 0-3 A-10) defeated Towson, 6-2, on Wednesday at Spuhler Field.
Junior catcher
Bailey Klein went 3-for-4, drove in a run and scored a run. He has at least one hit in four of his last five games.
Sophomore infielder
Daniel Brooks was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and senior first baseman
Tim Quinn hit his third home run of the season for the Patriots.
Freshman starter
Patrick Halligan (2-2) allowed two runs on six hits in 5.1 innings and earned his second win of the season.
Junior catcher
Logan Driscoll leads the team in average (.333), hits (28), home runs (7), RBI (23) and total bases (54) in 23 games played.
Sophomore outfielder
Cam Reckling is second on the team in average (.321) and hits (27) in 22 games played. He leads the team in doubles (6) and is tied for first on the club in runs scored (21).
Quinn is hitting .299 and is third on the squad in hits (23) and RBI (12). He leads the team in walks (20) and is second in home runs (3).
The Patriots have a team batting average of .249 and a team ERA of 6.21.
Mason faced Richmond four times during the 2018 season. In the first meeting, the Spiders defeated the Patriots, 16-2, at the Charleston Crab House Challenge on Feb. 17, 2018 in Charleston, S.C.
The Patriots faced the Spiders at home in Atlantic 10 play last season. Mason swept a doubleheader, 1-0 (10) and 5-1, on March 31, 2018, while Richmond took the final game of the series, 5-1 on April 1, 2018 at Spuhler Field.
