FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason Athletics will host its annual First Pitch Dinner on Friday, Feb. 8 at the Country Club of Fairfax, featuring Washington Nationals radio play-by-play broadcasters Charlie Slowes and Dave Jageler. Washington Nationals host Phil Wood will moderate the event.
Slowes, an original play-by-play voice of the Nationals, joined the club Feb. 24, 2005 for Washington's inaugural spring training broadcasts. He called the first pitch in club history and is known for his trademark tag lines, "Bang-Zoom go the Fireworks," and "A Curly 'W' is in the books," after Nationals victories.
The 2019 season will be Slowes' 15th with the Nationals, his 22nd
consecutive season calling Major League Baseball and 26th overall. He enters the 2019 season having called 3,447 MLB regular-season and postseason games, including 2,284 with the Nationals.
Jageler joined Nationals broadcast team in 2006 and enters his 14th season with the club. Before joining the Nationals, Jageler was the radio and television voice of the Pawtucket Red Sox of the Triple-A International League.
Jageler is a broadcasting veteran, having worked in Boston co-hosting an afternoon talk show and serving in various capacities with the Boston Celtics radio network. He spent six years as the voice of UNC-Charlotte basketball and three years with the Triple-A Charlotte Knights baseball club.

The MVP Table for the event can be purchased for $2,000 and includes six tickets, entry to a reception with Charlie Slowes and Dave Jageler, social hour, silent auction, dinner, seating with two members of the 2019 Mason baseball team and name listed in the event program.
Table sponsorship is available for $1,500 and includes six tickets, entry to social hour, silent auction, dinner, seating with two members of the 2019 Mason baseball team and name listed in the event program.
General individual tickets can be purchased for $200, Baseball Alumni tickets can be purchases for $150 and the cost for youth 12 and under is $50. All tickets include entry to the social hour, silent auction and dinner.
