FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason wrestling team is on the road, facing American on Friday, Feb. 15 at Bender Arena in Washington, D.C.
Last time out, Mason (8-5, 3-3 EWL) defeated Franklin & Marshall, 36-10, on Saturday in Lancaster, Pa. With the win, the Patriots improved to 5-2 on the road this season.
The Patriots won eight of 10 bouts against the Diplomats.

Matthew Voss (26-4, 11-1) leads the team with a career-high 26 wins. He finished with a 6-0 dual record in league competition.
Voss is ranked No. 18 at heavyweight in the latest NCAA Division I Coaches' Rankings. He is also ranked No. 15 by Win Magazine, No. 12 by both FloWrestling and TheOpenMat and No. 15 by Intermat.
The final Coaches' Panel Rankings will be part of the selection process to determine the qualifiers for the 2019 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships to be held March 21-23 at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Anthony (25-8, 10-3) is ranked No. 32 at 149 pounds in the second Division I Coaches' Rankings. He is second on the squad in overall wins and dual victories.
DiBlasi (24-9, 8-2) is third on the team in wins, while redshirt Spencer (21-11, 3-5) is fourth and Ho (18-9, 8-3) is fifth.
DiBlasi is ranked No. 26 at 165 pounds and Spencer is ranked No.33 at 197 pounds in the latest Division I Coaches' Rankings.
Mason finished the regular season with three victories against Eastern Wrestling League opponents, equaling the most wins against conference foes since joining the league in 2013-14.
The Patriots will host the 2019 EWL Championships on March 9 at EagleBank Arena.
This season, the Patriots have recorded wins over VMI (20-17), Bloomsburg (24-11), Gardner-Webb (30-13), Davidson (34-6), Cleveland State (26-9), The Citadel (31-18), Edinboro (20-19) and Franklin & Marshall (36-10).
Mason fell to American, 38-3, on Feb. 15, 2018 at the Recreation Athletic Complex in the last meeting between the two teams.

America has an overall record of 4-4, including a mark of 4-2 against EIWA opponents entering its road match against Navy on Thursday.
The Eagles have won three of their last four duals, with each of the last two decided in the final match.
American picked up a 21-16 win at Drexel on Feb. 2 and earned a 22-21 victory at Bucknell on Feb. 8.
Senior Jack Mutchnik (21-8, 6-2) leads the team in wins and dual victories and is ranked No. 30 in the Coaches' Panel Rankings, while sophomore Tanner Harvey (19-9, 4-4) is second on the squad in wins and is ranked No. 26 at 184 pounds.
Sophomore Josh Terao (17-4, 5-3) is ranked No. 18 at 133 pounds and senior Michael Sprague (17-6, 5-3) is ranked No. 33 at 149 pounds.
