2020 Schedule

FAIRFAX, Va. –
George Mason University women's lacrosse head coach Jessy Morgan has announced the program's 2020 schedule, which includes games against three 2019 NCAA Tournament teams and a marquee home contest with defending national champion Maryland.

The Patriots will host eight contests at George Mason Stadium and hit the West Coast for a two-game California swing in February.

In all, Mason's non-conference opponents combined to post an 85-61 record (.582) last season.

"We have put together another challenging schedule this year," Morgan said. "I believe that the strength of our non-conference schedule prepared us for the challenges of the A-10 last season. My hope is to continue to build on that progress. We still have a huge hurdle to get over but this year, but we have a wealth of experience and we couldn't be more excited for the season to start."

Mason opens the season with three-straight home contests, beginning with the contest against the Terrapins on Saturday, February 8. Maryland went 22-1 last season en route to the program's 15th national championship in May.

The Patriots remain at home for games against Delaware on February 15 and William & Mary on February 19.

From there, the Green & Gold begin a four-game road swing, starting with mid-major power Mt. St. Mary's on February 26. The Mountaineers posted an impressive 16-3 mark in 2019 and went 7-0 in Northeast Conference play.

Mason then heads south to Charlottesville to take on Virginia, which went 13-7 last season and reached the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight. The Cavaliers and Patriots will do battle on March 4 at 6 p.m.

The Patriots' West Coast trip begins with a contest at San Diego State (11-7 in 2019) on March 8, followed by a game at UC Davis on March 11.

Mason briefly returns home for its final non-conference tilt against the Iona Gaels on St. Patrick's Day.

From there, A-10 play begins with two road games. Mason opens with the Revolutionary Rivalry against George Washington on March 20, then travels to 2019 A-10 Tournament Champion Richmond on March 22.

A-10 regular season champion UMass comes to Fairfax on March 27, while Davidson makes its trek to George Mason Stadium on March 29.

After an April 3 road game at La Salle, Mason hosts VCU on April 5 (1 p.m.). Road contests against Saint Joseph's (April 9) and St. Bonaventure (April 11) follow, before Mason wraps up A-10 action with an April 18 home game against Duquesne (1 p.m.).

The A-10 Tournament will be held beginning April 23 at VCU.
