Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving at Richmond Duals

FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's and men's swimming and diving teams will face Atlantic 10 opponents for the first time this season, competing against Davidson, Duquesne and Richmond in the Sixth Annual Richmond Duals on Friday and Saturday.
The events will take place at the Robins Center Natatorium and SwimRVA in Richmond, Va.
Swimming events will be held at SwimRVA beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday and 10:15 a.m. on Saturday. Diving events will be held in the Robins Center Natatorium beginning at 4:30 on Friday and 10:15 a.m. on Saturday.
The Mason women's team will face Richmond on Friday and then take on the winner of Davidson/Duquesne on Saturday.
On the men's side, Mason and Davidson will compete in a single dual meet over both days.
Last season at the Richmond Duals, the Mason men's team defeated Davidson, 236-168, while the women's team fell to Duquesne, 184-115, on day one and earned a 183.5-103.5 victory over Davidson on the second day of competition.
The men's team won eight events against the Wildcats on day one of the two-day dual last year.
Attila Kiss claimed the 1,650-yard freestyle and placed second in the 200-yard IM.
Dylan Peck won the 200-yard IM and
Christopher Stankiewicz touched the wall first in the 200-yard breaststroke.
Drake Moretz won the 100-yard freestyle and was second in the 200-yard freestyle.
Nick Ashton took first in the 50-yard freestyle, while
Andres Alarcon won the 200-yard butterfly.
On day two, Stankiewicz won the 100-yard breaststroke, Alarcon won the 100-yard butterfly and Kiss won both the 500-yard freestyle and 400-yard IM.
On day one on the women's side last season,
Megan Cummins won the 1,650-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle.
Laura Hodge won the 200-yard freestyle and the 200-yard butterfly.
Marina Toone placed second in the three-meter dive and was third in the one-meter event.
On day two, Cummins won the 1,650-yard freestyle for the second straight day and took second in the 500-yard freestyle.
Theresa Cotter won the 100-yard backstroke. Toone was second in the three-meter for the second straight day.
In their first dual meet this season, the Patriots swept Delaware with the men's team defeating the Blue Hens, 188-110, and the women's team earning a 153-147 victory on Oct. 5 in Newark, Del.
