FAIRFAX, Va. - Sophomore pitcher Bekah Ansbro was named to the 2018 Atlantic 10 All-Academic team, announced on Tuesday. She is one of 11 players to be selected.

The selections were made based on the appropriate blend of high performance on the diamond and in the classroom. Ansbro finished fifth in the conference in strikeouts with 113 and finished first in A-10 only strikeouts with 83. She had arguably her best outing of the season vs. Dayton (April 28) when the sophomore threw a complete game shutout with a career-high 11 strikeouts in the victory. 

Ansbro is a Sports Management major.

The Patriots qualified for the A-10 Tournament and will begin play Wednesday at noon vs. Saint Louis. The competition features the six best A-10 teams from the regular season and will take two loses to be eliminated. The winner of this week's tournament will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
