FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason baseball team begins a three-game series against Georgetown on Friday with the first pitch scheduled for 3 p.m. at Shirley Povich Field in Bethesda, Md.
Mason (14-17, 6-3 A-10) dropped a midweek contest against James Madison on Wednesday, with the Dukes earning a 2-1 win at Spuhler Field in Fairfax, Va.

Last season, Georgetown took two of three games from Mason April 1-2, 2017 in a series held at Spuhler Field. The two teams split a doubleheader, with the Patriots winning game one 11-1 and the Hoyas posting a 7-3 victory in the nightcap. Georgetown won the series finale by the final score of 4-2.
SCOUTING REPORT
Georgetown has an overall record of 10-20, including a mark of 2-1 against BIG EAST opponents. The Hoyas are 6-3 at home, 2-10 on the road and 2-7 in games held at a neutral site this season.
The Hoyas won their third straight one-run game with a 3-2 victory over Navy on Wednesday at Max Bishop Stadium in Annapolis, Md. Junior Ryan Weisenberg went 3-for-4 with a RBI and a run scored, while freshman Eddie McCabe was 2-for-3 with a walk.
The Hoyas are 1-4 against Atlantic 10 opponents this season. Davidson swept three games from Georgetown Feb. 23-25 at Wilson Field in Davison, N.C. The Wildcats outscored the Hoyas by a combined score of 35-12.
The Hoyas split two games against Saint Joseph's March 10-11 in Port Charlotte, Fla. The Hawks won 4-3 and the Hoyas picked up a 4-1 victory.
