ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The George Mason wrestling team dropped its final road dual of the season, falling to Navy 43-0 on Tuesday at Alumni Hall in Annapolis, Md.

Mason (3-11, 0-6 EWL) redshirt senior Ibrahim Bunduka dropped a hard-fought 6-3 decision to Navy freshman Logan Treaster at 125 pounds.  With the match tied 3-3, Treaster took the advantage with an early third period escape and then recorded a takedown with one second left in the bout to earn the win.

At 141 pounds, Mason freshman Jose Tapia built a 4-1 lead heading into the second period against Navy freshman Jonathan Gabriel at 141 pounds.  Gabriel tied the score with an escape and a takedown in the middle frame.  He then scored a two-point near-fall with under a minute remaining to pick up the 6-5 decision to increase Navy's match score lead to 12-0.

In a match that featured plenty of offense, Mason redshirt junior Tejon Anthony scored with a pair of takedowns in the first 90 seconds to build a 4-1 lead over Navy's Corey Wilding at 149 pounds. 

Wilding evened the score 4-4 heading into the second peirod and held a 7-5 edge going into the third.  Anthony tied the bout 7-7 with a takedown 30 seconds into the final frame, but Wilding was able to pick up an escape point and added a riding time point for a 9-7 decision.

The Midshipmen then won by fall at 157 pounds, major decision at 165 pounds and by fall at both 174 and 184 pounds.

At 197 pounds, Mason redshirt freshman Eli Spencer registered a takedown and two near-fall points in the first period to build a 5-2 lead over Navy senior Steban Cervantes.  Spencer scored the only point of the second period with an escape to make the score 6-2.  Cerventes rallied with seven unanswered points in the third period for a 9-7 decision.

Navy (8-2, 3-1 EIWA) claimed wins in all 10 bouts of the match including one major decision and four falls.

The Patriots are back in action when they host Franklin & Marshall on Sunday, Feb. 11 at 3 p.m. at the Recreation Athletic Complex in Fairfax, Va.
