Atlantic 10 Championships Day Three Results

GENEVA, Ohio – The George Mason men's and women's swimming and diving teams completed day three of competition at the Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. The Mason men's team moved into second place with 371 points while the women's team remained in seventh place with 165 points.
On the men's side, Mason finished one-two in the 100-yard breaststroke with junior
Michael Pettinichi and sophomore
Christopher Stankiewicz each setting a new team record in the event.
Pettinichi earned the top spot on the podium (54.01) while Stankiewicz finished in second place (54.76).
The 400-yard medley relay team of senior
Alec Morin, sophomore
Logan Eubanks, freshman
Andres Alarcon and Pettinichi took the bronze, setting a new team record by three seconds (3:15.12).
Alarcon just missed the podium with a fourth place finish in the 100-yard butterfly (48.52), while Morin was fifth in the event (48.79). Eubanks placed fifth in the 100-yard backstroke (48.93).
In the 400-yard IM, senior
Steven Craig swam to a sixth place finish (3:58.20), while junior
Nicholas Burton was just behind in seventh place (3:59.87).
George Washington remained in the lead on the men's side after three days of competition with 494 points, followed George Mason (371), La Salle (326), Massachusetts (300), Saint Louis (280), St. Bonaventure (248.5), Davidson (246.5) and Fordham (228).
On the women's side, Mason senior
Amy Tansill was seventh in the 100-yard backstroke (1:03.00).
Junior
Marla Albanese placed eighth in the 100-yard butterfly (56.48), while classmate
Theresa Cotter finished third in the consolation final of the event (56.03).
Richmond moved into first place on the women's side after day three of competition with 401 points, followed by Duquesne (400), George Washington (295.5), St. Bonaventure (284), Fordham (281.5), Massachusetts (214.5), George Mason (165), Saint Louis (145), La Salle (119), Davidson (105.5) and Rhode Island (104).
The Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships conclude on Saturday with preliminary events scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and finals at 6:30 p.m. at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
