Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships Day Two Results

GENEVA, Ohio – The George Mason men's and women's swimming and diving teams completed day two of competition at the Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. The Mason men's team moved into third place with 180.5 points while the women's team is seventh with 102 points.
On the men's side, Mason sophomore
Attila Kiss finished eighth in the 500-yard freestyle (4:31.56). Senior
Steven Craig placed second in the consolation final of the event (4:31.59).
In the 200-yard IM, senior
Matthew Lynch recorded a seventh place finish (1:50.19). Freshman
Dylan Peck set a new Mason freshman record when he touched the wall first in the consolation final of the event with a time of 1:49.71.
Senior
Alec Morin just missed a spot on the podium with a fourth place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (20.35). Sophomore
Christopher Stankiewicz was fifth in the consolation final (20.76).
The combination of freshmen
Bradley Downs and
Drake Moretz along with Morin and Stankiewicz posted a fifth place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:21.62).
George Washington has the lead on the men's side after two days of competition with 249 points, followed by La Salle (191), George Mason (180.5), Massachusetts (175), Davidson (145.5), St. Bonaventure (136), Saint Louis (130) and Fordham (121).
On the women's side, Mason sophomore
Hannah Ikenberry placed second in the consolation final of the 500-yard freestyle (4:56.03), while junior
Marla Albanese was fifth in the consolation final of the 50-yard freestyle (23.60).
The 200-yard freestyle relay team of senior
Rachel Williams, sophomore
Rachel Chalsma, freshman
Shannon Glesing and Albanese finished sixth (1:33.99).
Mason freshman
Marina Toone placed sixth in the one-meter springboard event with a finals score of 243.40.
Duquesne held onto first place on the women's side after day two of competition with 235 points, followed by Richmond (201), George Washington (176), St. Bonaventure (164), Fordham (158.5), Massachusetts (151.5), George Mason (102), Saint Louis (88), La Salle (80), Davidson (53) and Rhode Island (51).
The Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships continue on Friday with preliminary events scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and finals at 6:30 p.m. at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
