Atlantic 10 Championships Day One Results

GENEVA, Ohio – The George Mason men's and women's swimming and diving teams completed the first day of competition at the Atlantic 10 Championships at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. The Mason men's team is currently in fourth place with 81 points while the women's team is tied for fifth with 52 points.
On the men's side, day one consisted of two relay events and the one-meter diving competition.
The combination of seniors
Matthew Lynch and
Alec Morin along with sophomores
Logan Eubanks and
Christopher Stankiewicz placed fourth in the 200-yard medley relay (1:28.59).
In the 800-yard freestyle relay, the team of freshmen
Andres Alarcon,
Bradley Downs and
Drake Moretz along with sophomore
Ryan Donnelly finished seventh (6:40.71).
In the finals of the one-meter springboard, Mason sophomore
Gerald Hodges, Jr. placed fifth with a score of 294.30. In the consolation finals of the event, freshman
Aidan Jones was third with a score of 228.70, while sophomore
Joe Amato finished fourth with a score of 214.85.
George Washington has the lead on the men's side after three events with 118 points, followed by La Salle (104), Massachusetts (88), George Mason (81), Saint Louis (69), Fordham (58), St. Bonaventure (57) and Davidson (52).
On the women's side, Mason seniors
Amy Tansill and
Dorothy Reilly along with juniors
Marla Albanese and
Theresa Cotter combined to finish fifth in the 200-yard medley relay (1:42.61).
In the 800-yard freestyle relay, the team of senior
Rachel Williams, sophomore
Hannah Ikenberry, Reilly and Cotter placed seventh (7:25.59).
Duquesne is in first place on the women's side after two events with 72 points, followed by Richmond (68), George Washington (64), Fordham (62), Massachusetts (52), George Mason (52), St. Bonaventure (52), Saint Louis (40), La Salle (36), Rhode Island (36) and Davidson (26).
The Atlantic 10 Championships continue on Thursday with preliminary events scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and finals at 6:30 p.m. at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
