2019 George Mason Baseball Schedule
FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason baseball team has released its 2019 schedule, a 56-game slate that includes 24 contests against Atlantic 10 opponents.
The Patriots begin the new campaign with a season-high seven straight games on the road from Feb. 15 through Feb. 26, including matchups against Iowa, Marshall and Villanova in Kissimmee, Fla.
The games will be played at Osceola County Stadium, spring training home of the Houston Astros from 1985-2016 and current home of the Florida Fire Frogs, the Class-A Advanced affiliate of the Atlanta Braves.
The Hawkeyes finished the 2018 season with an overall record of 33-30 and went 13-9 in Big Ten play.
The Patriots will wrap up the first month of the season with a three-game series against Winthrop Feb. 22-24 in Rock Hill, S.C., followed by a single game at Longwood on Feb. 26 in Farmville, Va.
Mason begins the month of March with its first home series of the season, hosting Princeton Mar. 1-3 at Spuhler Field. The Patriots went 15-7 at home in 2018 and recorded a mark of 9-3 against conference opponents in Fairfax.
After a midweek game at James Madison on Mar. 5 in Harrisonburg, Va., the Patriots will return for seven of the next eight games at home.
The Patriots will play 10 of 12 games at home Mar. 1-19. Mason hosts Manhattan College (Mar. 8-10) and then travels to Raleigh to take on N.C. State on Mar. 13. The Patriots are back for a four-game homestand at Spuhler Field, with three games against Monmouth (Mar. 15-17) and a midweek game against Georgetown on Mar. 19.
Eight of the next nine games on the schedule for the Patriots are on the road Mar. 20 through Apr. 3, beginning with a midweek contest at UMBC in Baltimore.
The Patriots will play four home-and-home series during the 2018 season, taking on Georgetown, Longwood, James Madison and Towson.
Mason begins Atlantic 10 action with its first two conference series on the road, with a three-game set at Saint Joseph's (Mar. 22-24) in Philadelphia, Pa., followed by three games at Richmond (Mar. 29-31).
The Patriots will play eight league series, four at home and four on the road.
Home series against A-10 foes include three-game weekend sets against George Washington (Apr. 5-7), Dayton (Apr. 19-21), Fordham (May. 3-7) and VCU (May. 16-18).
The Patriots also visit Rhode Island (Apr. 26-28) and defending A-10 tournament champion Saint Louis (May 10-12).
Mason will play single road games at JMU (Mar. 5), at N.C. State (Mar. 13) and at UMBC (Mar. 20).
The Patriots will host midweek games against Towson (Mar. 27), Longwood (Apr. 9), Maryland (Apr. 16), Navy (Apr. 24), William & Mary (Apr. 30), Mount St. Mary's (May 1) and JMU (May 7).
The Atlantic 10 Championship will be held May 22-25 at John W. Smithson Field in Bronx, N.Y.
