FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason University women's tennis team returns to competition this weekend at the Bear 4-1 Invite on the campus of Morgan State University.
The Patriots will match up in a quartet of fall duals with teams from the region.
Mason opens the weekend with a 1 p.m. contest Saturday vs. Bucknell. In the nightcap, the Green & Gold will face off with Loyola (Md.) at 7 p.m.
On Sunday, the Patriots suit up at 10 a.m. for a contest with Georgetown and wrap up the event with a 1 p.m. match against the host Morgan State Bears.
Mason is coming off a season-opening competition at the Loyola Fed Cup Sept. 28-30.

Sydney Green and freshman
Brianna Gibbs combined to post a 10-2 record to lead the Green & Gold in Baltimore. Green & Gibbs went 3-1 in doubles play, then combined to post a 7-1 mark in singles to win three of four rounds and garner a third-place overall finish at the event.
In addition, freshmen
Hannah Harrod and
Jackie Nannery advanced to the semifinals and placed fourth.
After this weekend's matches, Mason wraps up the fall season with a berth in the ITA Regionals Oct. 11-15 in Lynchburg, Va.
