RICHMOND, Va. – The George Mason women's and men's swimming and diving teams concluded an impressive showing at the Richmond Duals on Saturday.

The women's team defeated Davidson 183.5-103.5 on the second day of competition to move to 2-1 on the season, while the men's team completed a two-day dual against the Wildcats with a 236-168 victory to improve to 2-0.

Mason freshman
Megan Cummins won the 1,650-yard freestyle (17:28.57) for the second straight day. Sophomore
Autumn Boxley finished fourth (17:56.89) in the event.

Cummins also took second in the 500-yard freestyle (5:12.29).

Freshman
Sophie McKinley swam to a second-place finish in the 400-yard IM (4:35.58)

In the 400-yard medley relay, the combination of seniors
Marla Albanese,
Theresa Cotter and
Brittany Murphy along with sophomore
Shannon Glesing placed fourth (3:56.93). Glesing was also fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:07.77).

The Patriots took the top two spots in the 100-yard backstroke, with Cotter touching the wall first (59.37) and freshman
Hannah Milikich second (59.48).

Murphy took second in both the 50-yard freestyle (24.41) and 100-yard freestyle (53.84). Cotter was second in the 200-yard backstroke (2:05.55).

Freshman
Laura Hodge, who won two events on Friday, finished second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:56.31), while junior
Melissa Carroll was fourth (1:57.22).

Hodge posted Mason's highest finish in the 200-yard butterfly, finishing fourth (2:10.10).

Rachel Chalsma, freshman
Chloe Fite, Albanese and Murphy notched a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:38.62).

Sophomore
Marina Toone placed second in the three-meter dive for the second straight day with a score of 240.90, while classmate
Alyx Bridis was seventh in the event (188.10).

On the men's side, junior
Christopher Stankiewicz, sophomores
Andres Alarcon and
Drake Moretz and freshman
Sam Westmont finished second in the 400-yard medley relay (3:26.60).

Stankiewicz won the 100-yard breaststroke (58.22), edging out sophomore teammate
Joshua Fletcher (1:00.22) by two seconds.

The Patriots took the top two spots in the 100-yard butterfly, with Alarcon first (51.21) and Moretz second (51.49). Alarcon was second in the 50-yard backstroke (24.68), while sophomore
Dylan Peck placed fourth in the event (25.29).

In the 50-yard butterfly, Alarcon placed second (23.53) and freshman
Nick Ashton was third (24.08).

Junior
Attila Kiss won two events, finishing first in the 500-yard freestyle (4:40.31) and 400-yard IM (4:07.05).Â

In the final event of the day, freshmen
Jacob Miller and
Will Rastatter, Ashton and Stankiewicz finished strong by taking the top spot in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:24.58).

The Patriots are back in action Oct. 27-28 when they compete in the A-10 Classic at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
