EDINBORO, Pa. – The George Mason wrestling team dropped its final two Eastern Wrestling League duals of the season on Saturday.  The Patriots fell 29-18 to Cleveland State at Woodling Gymnasium in Cleveland, Ohio in their first match of the day and then suffered a 41-0 setback against Edinboro at McComb Fieldhouse in Edinboro, Pa.
 
In the first match of the day, Mason (3-10, 0-6 EWL) took an early lead against Cleveland State when redshirt senior Ibrahim Bunduka recorded his 17th victory of the season with a 15-5 major decision over John Martin at 125 pounds.
 
The Vikings then won by fall at 133 pounds and posted a technical fall at 141 pounds to take an 11-4 match score lead.
 
Mason redshirt junior Tejon Anthony registered a 17-7 major decision over Ryan Ford to cut Cleveland State's advantage to 11-8.  Anthony notched his third major decision of the season.
 
Cleveland State then won four straight bouts.  The Vikings picked up a decision at 157 pounds, a fall at 165 pounds, a major decision at 174 pounds and a fall at 184 pounds to take 30-8 lead in the match.
 
The Patriots closed the match strong when redshirt freshman Eli Spencer notched his second pin of the season at 197 pounds, while redshirt junior Matthew Voss won by major decision at 285 pounds for his team-leading 18th win of the season.
 
In the second match of the day, Edinboro (5-3, 3-1 EWL) recorded wins in all 10 bouts and earned bonus points in six of the matches against the Patriots.
 
The Patriots are back in action against Navy on Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m. at Alumni Hall in Annapolis, Md.
