FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason University women's tennis team will be making a weekend trip to the McClure Tennis Center at the Ridley Athletic Complex to take part in the Loyola Women's Tennis Invitational from Friday through Sunday in Baltimore, Md.

Joining Mason in this tournament will be Loyola (Md.), Lafayette, and Mount St. Mary's. The event will mark the third fall tournament of the season for the Patriots.

Last time out, Mason put together strong performances at the Mt. St. Mary's Invitational Sept. 8-10. A trio of Patriots won their singles flights to highlight the weekend. Junior Sydney Green went a perfect 3-0 to win the 'A' singles flight, while freshman Kayleigh Hahn captured the 'C' flight title. Junior Lauren Dupuis was victorious in the 'E' flight. For the talented Green, it marked the first 'A' flight singles championship of her Mason career.

Mason is now 31-18 in singles action through the first two tournaments of the 2017 fall season.

In doubles action, junior Nicole Haigwood paired with Hahn to win the 'B' flight championship. They opened with a 6-0 sweep of their opponents from Harford CC before upending the Siena team of Phillips/Saki in the semis (6-2). They defeated the Loyola team of Eberle/Clark, 6-4, in the final to claim the flight win.

After this weekend, the Patriots will head to Annapolis, Md., for the Navy Blue & Gold event October 6-8.
