World Championships Viewing Guide
BRADENTON, Fla. – Former George Mason University All-America rower Maureen McAuliffe ('11) and Team USA's Quad will race for a gold medal Saturday afternoon at the 2017 World Championships in Florida.
The United States will compete in the event's 'A' Final at 11:53 a.m. against boats from Great Britain, the Netherlands, Poland, Australia and Germany.
McAuliffe's boat opened the World Championships on Sunday and the boat finished third in its heat (6:27.88), just .01 seconds out of an automatic qualifying spot in the final.
As a result, Team USA hit the water again on Tuesday in the repechage, for another chance at the final. The quartet made the most of the opportunity, winning the race in 6:19.73, nearly two seconds ahead of second-place Germany.
"Making the A Final has been the goal ever since our boat lineup was named," McAuliffe said. "Crossing the line first in reps yesterday and punching our ticket to the final was an amazing feeling to share with my teammates! Everyone in our quad is a true racer and I can't wait to lay it all out there with them on Saturday."
A live stream and other online television opportunities are available for members of #MasonNation to tune in and watch Maureen compete. For a full guide of how to watch,
