FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason University women's track & field student-athlete Sharon Dorsey has earned a spot on the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team, the league office announced on Thursday.
 
It marks the third time in her career that the junior sprinter has garnered the accolade. Dorsey also received the award during the 2016 outdoor season and the 2017 indoor campaign.
 
Dorsey has put together an outstanding 2017 outdoor season, highlighted by a spectacular effort at the A-10 Championship. The Baltimore product won gold as a member of the 4x400-meter relay team, setting the A-10 record with a time of 3:40.15 and helping the Patriots clinch the A-10 outdoor team championship. She also took eighth in the 400-meter dash at the league meet to add to the team's victorious point total.
 
She recorded nine top-10 finishes on the season and set a new personal best 800-meter time (2:14.02) at the Miami Hurricane Invitational in March.
 
Dorsey carries an impressive 3.82 GPA at Mason while majoring in environmental science.
