FAIRFAX, Va. – On the strength of leading her team to its second postseason appearance in three seasons, George Mason softball pitcher Marina Vitalich was named Atlantic 10 Conference Co-Pitcher of the Year and First Team All-Conference.

Those are Vitalich's third and fourth all-conference honors in two years after Second Team and All-Rookie Team selections as a freshman.

The San Pedro, Calif. native, who was named Pitcher of the Week in mid-April, shared the conference's most prestigious pitching honor with Fordham's senior Lauren Quense, who earned five weekly honors herself in the regular season.

After playing a major role in the Patriots' return to the Atlantic 10 Championship, Vitalich came into Wednesday, the opening day of the double-elimination tournament, with the second-best ERA (1.80) and with second-most strikeouts (182) by an A-10 pitcher.

Vitalich will make her postseason debut against Saint Joseph's Wednesday, only three days after picking up two strikeouts to close out the series opener against the Hawks for Mason's clinching victory.
