FAIRFAX, Va. – The accolades continue to roll in for George Mason golfer
Eric Edwards.
The junior was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Co-Golfer of the Week on Friday. It is the second time this season he has received the award.
A native of Salisbury, N.C., Edwards tied for second at the Wofford Invitational on Tuesday in Spartanburg, S.C. Edwards shot a 6-under-par 138 (68-70) over 36 holes at the rain-shortened tournament, which was originally scheduled to be 54 holes. He helped the Patriots finish third as team for their third top-three finish of the season.
He shot 4-under during the opening round, which started Monday and ended Tuesday morning, due to the rain. For the tournament, he sank 11 birdies and made two eagles. It was his third top-five finish of the season and fourth time inside the top 10.
The Patriots are back in action at the Navy Spring Invitational on April 22-23 in Annapolis, Md.
