FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason University men's tennis team enjoyed strong contributions from its quartet of senior starters during the team's victorious home finale vs. District of Columbia on Saturday afternoon.
Mason honored its seniors prior to the match, then got to work on a complete victory from start to finish.
"Our guys played great today and really fought hard to make it a high quality senior day for us," head coach Jimmy Davis said. "All of our seniors pulled out wins and have done so much work to help keep us hungry and motivated this year. They are an irreplaceable bunch."

Daniel Gutierrez took a 6-1 win at No. 1.
Andrew Curtis teamed with fellow senior
Youssef Khalafallah to earn a 6-2 victory at No. 3 doubles.
In singles action, Nielsen made the score 2-0 in favor of Mason with a straight sets victory (6-1, 6-3). Ray made the score 3-0 with a sweep at No. 2 (6-1, 6-1). Ray is now 8-4 at the No. 2 spot this season.
Freshman Eddie Ayers made quick work of his opponent at No. 4 (6-0, 6-0), while Lange went the distance in a gutsy three-set win at No. 1 (6-7, 7-6, 10-5). That victory clinched the match for the Patriots.
Curtis won in straight sets at No. 6 singles (6-3, 6-2) and Gutierrez closed out the match with a win at No. 5 (7-5, 6-2).
"We've got a week to train and get ready for Fordham," Davis said. "We're excited to continue making improvements and we want to thank everyone who came out to support us today. We had a great crowd to fight for."
Mason hosts the Rams next Sunday (April 23) at 11 a.m. inside the Mason Tennis Complex.
