– George Mason University's softball team will bring its Atlantic 10 Conference momentum to an inhospitable place as it visits Dayton for a weekend series.
Mason goes into the battles with the Flyers after having won consecutive games for the first time this season. Last Sunday the Patriots knocked off La Salle 4-0 in the series finale in Fairfax and then made it a streak with a 3-1 win in the opening game of the midweek doubleheader against Towson.
Dayton was the winner of the last series between the two teams, taking two games in Fairfax after Mason had won the opening contest 4-1. The Patriots are 2-5 in their A-10 battles against the Flyers, one of those victories coming in the 2015 Atlantic 10 Softball Championship.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Dayton has the significantly better overall record of the two teams, sitting at 15-15, but enters the series after heavy midweek defeats at Saint Louis – 2-8 and 1-8, respectively. That was not the Flyers' first A-10 action of the season, however. They swept the series against George Washington in D.C. in the opening weekend of A-10 to currently hold a 3-2 record in conference play.
