The series against Canisius was originally scheduled to be played at Spuhler Field Friday, March 17 through Sunday, March 19, but was moved due to field conditions. The Patriots will remain the home team in the series.

The Patriots took advantage of four walks in the top of the first inning to take the lead when junior
Tyler Nelin was issued a free pass with the bases loaded and two outs, forcing in sophomore
Michael Smith from third to give Mason a 1-0 advantage.
N.C. State responded by scoring five runs on four hits in the home half of the first, including a grand slam, to take control of the game.
The Patriots have allowed at least one run in the first inning in each of their last seven games.
Down 6-1, Mason put a dent in the N.C. State lead in the top of the fourth. With one out, sophomore
Alejandro Aponte singled and freshman
John Callahan followed with his first NCAA home run, a two-run blast over the left field fence to make it a 6-3 game, but that's as close as Mason would get.
The Patriots have hit 15 home runs over their first 17 games with eight players recording at least one home run so far this season.
Junior
Timothy Turner allowed one unearned run over 3.1 innings and senior
Tyler Kardas tossed three scoreless innings, allowing just one Wolfpack baserunner. The duo held N.C. State without a hit over the last six innings of the game.
Callahan went 1-for-3 and belted his first NCAA home run. Smith was 1-for-4 with a walk and scored a run. He leads Mason with 19 runs scored this season. Nelin drove in his 17th run of the season.
