JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – George Mason University's softball team will see familiar opponents at a familiar park this weekend as it prepares to play four games in the Jacksonville Invitational.

The first three of those games will be neutral-site contests against Columbia, which Mason hosted in the Patriot Classic two weeks ago. The Patriots will be out for revenge after the Lions won the game in Fairfax 3-0. The final game of the weekend will be against tournament host Jacksonville University. Mason and the Dolphins played twice in the opening week of the season in JU's River City Leadoff tournament. The Dolphins won both games by a combined margin of 11 runs with the second contest finishing in five innings.

Just like Mason, both Columbia and JU featured in midweek action this week. The Lions suffered back-to-back 8-0 losses to North Florida in five-inning and six-inning games, respectively, to extend its winless streak to four games. The Dolphins edged another Ivy League member, Yale, 5-4 in extra innings in their first game on Wednesday and then fell 9-6 to South Florida later that day. JU has won six of its last eight games and is 13-3 at home this season.
