Logan Driscoll has been named Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Driscoll, a Burke, Va. native, batted .316 (6-for-19) with nine RBI, four runs scored, a .474 slugging percentage and a .435 on-base percentage. He recorded at least one hit in all five of Mason's games during the week, starting once in right field, once as the designated hitter and three times behind the plate.
Driscoll belted his first career grand slam and drove in five runs on March 11 in the Patriots' 11-4 win over Cornell. It's the second time this season that he has driven in five runs in a game. Driscoll also collected five RBI in Mason's 21-1 win over VMI on Feb. 19 in Wilmington, N.C.
It's the second time this season that Driscoll has been named A-10 Rookie of the Week. He also earned the honor after the first week of the season, when he began his collegiate career 7-for-13 (.538) with five RBI and five runs scored.
The Patriots are back on the diamond on Wednesday when they face N.C. State with the first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m. at Doak Field in Raleigh, N.C.Â
