Atlantic 10 Championships Day Three Results

GENEVA, Ohio – Senior
Sydney Fisher continued to stand out at the Atlantic 10 Championships, winning the gold medal in the 100-yard butterfly on Friday. With one day of competition remaining, the George Mason women's and men's swimming and diving teams are both in seventh place.
A day after winning the A-10 title in the 50-yard freestyle for the third consecutive year, Fisher took the top spot on the podium in the 100-yard butterfly with a NCAA B qualifying time of 53.48. Â Â She finished second in the event at last year's championships.
Mason junior
Dorothy Reilly posted a second place finish in the consolation finals of the 100-yard butterfly (56.26).
In the consolation finals of the 100-yard breaststroke, junior
Amy Tansill finished first (1:03.37) while classmate
Allison Barahona placed third (1:03.79). Mason senior
Steff Maurer was fourth in the consolation finals of the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.90).
The group of Fisher, Maurer, Reilly and Tansill finished seventh in the 400-yard medley relay (3:47.49).
On the women's side, six-time defending champion Richmond has the lead going into the final day of competition with 413 points, followed by Massachusetts (381), Duquesne (342.5), Fordham (296.5), Davidson (273), George Washington (214), George Mason (185.5), Rhode Island (151.5), St. Bonaventure (137.5), Saint Louis (136) and La Salle (115.5).
On the men's side, Mason junior
Matthew Lynch swam to a sixth place finish in the 100-yard butterfly (48.98), with classmate
Alec Morin placing seventh in the event (49.51).
Mason took three of the top four spots in the consolation finals of the 400-yard IM, with freshman
Garrett Anderson touching the wall first (3:58.13), junior
Steven Craig second (3:59.39) and freshman
Attila Kiss fourth (4:00.55).
Freshman
Ryan Donnelly recorded a second place finish in the consolation finals of the 100-yard backstroke (49.68), while
Logan Eubanks placed fourth (50.35). Freshman
Christopher Stankiewicz finished third in the consolation finals of the 100-yard breaststroke (56.10).
The team of Donnelly, Lynch, Morin and Stankiewicz placed seventh in the 400-yard medley relay (3:19.41).
George Washington moved into first place on the men's side with 378 points, followed by La Salle (346), Massachusetts (300), Saint Louis (279), Fordham (276.5), St. Bonaventure (256), George Mason (247.5) and Davidson (166).
The final day of competition at the Atlantic 10 Championships is Saturday, with men's and women's 100 free, 200 back, 200 breast, 200 fly, 400 freestyle relay, 1650 free and men's three-meter diving. Preliminaries are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and finals at 6:30 p.m.
