ELKTON, Md. - The George Mason University women's tennis team (3-3) fell to the University of Delaware (1-2) on Saturday evening at the Elkton Indoor Tennis Center.
Delaware won the doubles point, then swept singles action to pick up the victory.
Mason's No. 1 doubles team of
Sydney Green and
Rachel Lee battled hard but ultimately fell 7-5 to Delaware's Amanda Studnicki and Sarah Hall.
In singles at the No. 6 position, the Patriots'
Liz Lowe won the second set 7-6 and rolled in the tiebreaker, 6-0. But UD's Studnicki won the third set in extra frames (10-7) to come away with the win.
Mason returns to action Saturday (Feb. 18) at 5 p.m. vs. Towson at Trump National.
