ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Freshman Kayleigh Hahn won her second singles flight of the 2017 fall campaign to pace the George Mason University women's tennis team at the Navy Blue & Gold Invitational this weekend.

Hahn captured the 'E' singles flight title with a perfect 4-0 singles record on the weekend. It was one of a number of strong performances for the Patriots to wrap up the fall slate.

"Individually we played well this weekend against some terrific opposition," head coach Stephen Curtis said. "I can see where we have made improvements from the beginning of the semester. Now we start preparations for our spring season."

Hahn opened her weekend with a straight sets win (6-4, 6-2) over Morgan State's Oriane Yeheounou. Then in the quarterfinals, she took down Towson's Jane Schusterman in a three-set battle (4-6, 6-2, 10-8). After a semifinal win over Howard's Sajela Harlow (6-1, 6-2), Hahn faced teammate Hannah Cianciola in the final and won in straight sets (6-4, 6-4) to claim the title.

Cianciola went 3-1 in the flight, opening with a sweep of Binghamton's Emily Kong (6-0, 6-2). She then upended Towson's Claire Bodi (4-6, 6-4, 10-6) before defeating Navy's Tina Li in a three-set thriller (6-7, 7-6, 10-8) in the semis.

In the 'D' flight, fellow freshman Brianna Gibbs earned a pair of wins before falling in the semifinals. She won the opener over Rutgers' Katarina Rosenberger (6-4, 6-0), then defeated Elizabeth Kuzyi of Connectic (6-4, 0-6, 11-9).

In doubles action, the pair of Gibbs/Cianciola won a 'B' flight contest over the Rutgers' duo of Lee & Levy (6-2). Also in the 'B' flight, Mason's team of Hahn and junior Nicole Haigwood defeated the Seton Hall pairing of Jansen/Kim, 6-4.

The Patriots now take a winter break before returning to action during the 2018 dual season in February.
