FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's swimming and diving team has been recognized by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) as a Scholar All-America team.

The honor comes as a result of the team's performance in the classroom during the past semester.  The Mason women's swimming and diving team was one of 172 Division I programs recognized.

To be selected as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, programs must have achieved a grade point average of 3.00 or higher over the spring semester.  A recent survey of Division I programs showed that nearly 40 percent of all female and over one-third of male swimmers and divers pursued degrees in the STEM fields.
