Track and Field's Jennifer Nakamura earned another honor when she was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District III First-Team. As a result of her selection to the All-District First Team, Nakamura will advance to the national ballot and have the opportunity to earn Academic All-America honors.

Nakamura, a three-time Provost Scholar Athlete, holds the Patriots school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:52.18) as well as the top four times in the event in school history. The Fresno, Ca. native posted two top-three finishes in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 2016, including winning the Tribe Invitational. She finished fourth at the 2016 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championship.

The distance runner has earned A-10 Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll on multiple occasions and was selected to the 2014 A-10 Cross Country All-Academic Team and the 2014 and 2016 Outdoor Track and Field All-Academic Teams. The Psychology major did not compete in 2015 Outdoor Track and Field.
