The George Mason women's tennis team ended their season at the hands of George Washington at the 2016 Atlantic 10 Championship today. The 7th seeded Colonials won four straight singles matches to defeat the 10th seeded Patriots, 4-0.
With rain delaying action today, the match was moved from the outdoor Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio to the Queen City Racquet Club.
GW earned their singles points when matches at the top three positions and the No. 6 position were completed. The Colonials Teodora Radosavljevic defeated Brittany Pilkington in the top singles match, 6-3, 6-4. Sydney Green finished her rookie season at No. 2 dropping her match to Sara Grubac. Morgan Yang fell at No. 3 and Scarlett Walston at No. 6 to round out the scoring.
This is the second straight season the Patriots (7-16, 2-6 A-10) faced GW at the A-10 Championship with the Colonials advancing.
