The George Mason golf team finished their first of two spring break tournaments today in North Myrtle Beach at the Surf Golf & Beach Club. Only one Mason player scored under par which accounted for the 15th place finish.

The Patriots sophomore Eric Edwards had a solid tournament finishing with a four-under par 209 and a sixth place finish. In the final round today he finished with five birdies and two bogeys to notch his three-round best 68. 

James Madison claimed the 2016 Bash of the Beach title and had the first and second place finisher. Fellow Sun Belt school Arkansas State was the runner-up. Gardner Webb's Aaron Thomas aced the 13th hole in the final round.

The Patriots will continue on their Spring Break heading down to Howie-in-the-Hills, Florida to host the Mission Inn Spectacular this weekend.
