FAIRFAX, Va. – With a busy weekend on the horizon, the George Mason women's lacrosse team showed no signs of looking ahead in closing out non-conference play.

The Patriots dominated their final out-of-conference test, cruising to a 15-4 victory over Mount St. Mary's on Wednesday at George Mason Stadium. The game was rescheduled from Feb. 24 when the Patriots' season opener was postponed after a second lightning delay with Mason leading 9-4.

The Patriots (5-2) finished the job on Wednesday, going ahead by 10 goals less than eight minutes into the second half and initiating a running clock. Chachi Kelehan matched her career-high with five goals and Alexa McGovern notched a hat trick with three goals as Mason picked up its third straight victory.

The win kicked off a busy few days for the Patriots, who played their first of three games over the next five days. They open Atlantic 10 Conference play with a pair of games on the road this weekend, beginning at George Washington on Friday and capped off at Richmond on Sunday.

Against Mount St. Mary's (2-7), eight Patriots scored and every available player was used in outshooting the Mountaineers 37-15. Melissa Lobaccaro scored two goals and had an assist. Brooke Lorber netted a goal and had a career-high three assists. Hannah Warpinski and Lydia Montanino each had a goal and two assists and Jordan Sdanowich and Jacquelyn Spalding each scored.

Freshman goalkeeper Elizabeth Benedetto made her second career start and improved to 2-0 with six saves. Defender and senior captain Erin Anderson tied career-highs with four ground balls and three caused turnovers. As a team, the Patriots caused a season-high 10 turnovers.

Mason will make the short trip to George Washington to play the Colonials in the Revolutionary Rivalry matchup at 4 p.m. on Friday in Washington D.C.
