The George Mason golf team fared as well as the stormy weather in round one of the sixth annual Seahawk Intercollegiate played today at the Country Club of Landfall finishing 14th overall. Rain this morning suspended play until 2 pm, and shortened the event from a three-round event to 36 holes.
The Patriots were led by Eric Edwards with a four-over par 76 on the par 72 course. He is tied for 49th overall.
Nationally ranked Duke leads the tournament with a first-round 280, one stroke ahead of Army, six strokes in front of host UNCW and seven ahead of defending tournament champion and fourth place Campbell.
The tournament continues on Monday at 8:45 a.m.
