FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason baseball team is set to host Long Island for a three-game series this weekend, beginning with a doubleheader today with the first game scheduled to start at 12:00 p.m. The second game of the doubleheader will begin 30 minutes after game one at Spuhler Field.
The Patriots (4-13) and Blackbirds (3-10) will wrap up the series on Saturday, March 19 with the first pitch slated for 2 p.m.
RHP Tyler Zombro (1-3, 4.56) will get the start in game one and LHP Joe Williams (0-2, 5.32) will make the start in the second game for Mason.
Scouting Report
Long Island is 3-9 on the road this season and has yet to play a home game. The Blackbirds have lost five straight games overall, three by just a single run.
RHP Anthony Rupp (0-0, 5.91) is the probable starter for game one of the doubleheader. RHP Vincent Tranchina (1-1, 10.80) is the scheduled starter for Long Island in game two.
