FAIRFAX, Va. — The Patriot women's tennis team lost 0-7 Wednesday to the Hoyas of Georgetown.
The scoring opened when the Mason doubles teams lost 6-4, 6-1 and 6-3 to go down 0-1.
Morgan Yang had the closest match of the day as she fell to Liselot Koenen in a three set battle, 6-3, 3-6, 6-7 (5). Marijke Boers lost to Sara Swift in a first set tie-breaker before succumbing 2-6 in the second set. Scarlett Walston came up short against the defending the Virginia state high school champion, Sydney Goodson, 4-6, 4-6.
Brittany Pilkington, Sydney Green and Esu Erdenebat lost to their Hoya opponents in straight sets.
“We battled against a very strong Hoya team today,” commented Director of Tennis Steve Curtis. “I am seeing improvement in many areas but we still have some adjustments to make”.
Mason is back in action on Saturday when they host A-10 foe, La Salle at 1pm.
