The Patriots men's tennis team won their first match of the young spring season defeating UDC, 6-1, at Montclair Country Club on Friday night. Mason improves to 1-3 on the season.
After a clean sweep at doubles, Mason earned the first point of the match. The Patriots top team of Joe Hill and Daniel Gutierrez won 6-1 against UDC's team of Pinto and Baguelin. Mason's number two team of Jimmy Lange and Aaron Capitel and the three team of Tanner Baine and Andrew Curtis each won 6-2.
George Mason won singles matches two through six in straight sets. At the two spot Capitel blanked Diego Pinto of UDC, 6-0, 6-0. Hill handled is opponent, 6-3, 6-1 at the third spot.
The Patriots are back on the court against Valapraso on March 4 at Monclair Country Club.
