BRONX, N.Y. – The George Mason men's cross country team ended its season on the podium.

The Patriots raced to a third-place team finish at the 108th IC4A Cross Country Championships on Saturday at Van Cortlandt Park. Four runners finished in the top 25 to earn All-East accolades. The Mason women also fared well, placing fifth at the 31st ECAC Championships, also at Van Cortlandt Park. Three Patriots earned All-ECAC honors.

"Overall, it was a very positive way to wrap up the season for both teams," head coach Andrew Gerard said. "On the men's side, our goal was a trophy so we were pleased to accomplish that. Again we featured a nice tight spread and had four All-East honorees. For the women, it was probably our best overall team race of the year and ended up with three All-ECAC honorees, which was a really nice step up for (freshman) Khalilah Hamer."

The men finished third with a score of 78, behind champion Columbia (21) and runner-up Saint Joseph's (68). The Patriots had four runners in the top 20 just seven spots apart who earned All-East honors.

Junior Logan Miller led the Patriots for the third straight race, finishing 10th in a time of 26:10 on the 8K course. Sophomore Grayson Morgan was right behind, placing 12th in a time of 26:21. Senior Brent Coulter ended his career with a 14-place finish thanks to a time of 26:27. Sophomore Trent Lancaster was the fourth Patriot to earn All-East honors, placing 17th in 26:35. Junior Luke Sharkey rounded out the top five with a time of 26:53.

For the women, junior Amber Hawkins, sophomore Ciara Donohue and freshman Khalilah Hamer all placed in the top 25. Hawkins was the first Mason runner across the line for the first time this season. She placed 11th with a time of 18:50 on the 5K course.

Donohue, the Patriots' frontrunner all season, finished 14th in 18:59. Hamer placed 22nd in 19:24 to also collect All-ECAC recognition. Sophomore Caitlin Kelly (52nd, 20:33) and freshman Kyla Carte (57th, 20:44) rounded out the top five. Mason finished with a score of 136 to place fifth.
