SPARKS, Md. — US Lacrosse announced on Monday that George Mason women's lacrosse head coach Jessy Morgan will host an educational clinic for coaches at the 2017 US Lacrosse Convention (LaxCon).

Morgan, entering her third year at George Mason, coached the Patriots to a school-record seven wins in Atlantic 10 Conference play and to a record-tying 12 wins overall in 2016. In two years at Mason, Morgan has guided the Patriots to 22 wins and two appearances in the A-10 tournament. Off the field, she works to develop the sport, having facilitated a successful US Lacrosse Physical Education Workshop in her native Baltimore in August.

"Growing the game remains important to me, because I was the recipient of opportunities through lacrosse," Morgan said. "Developing the teachers and coaches who guide our kids is vital to expand the sport, and I'm looking forward to sharing some tips on growing the game on and off the field at the US Lacrosse Convention."

LaxCon represents lacrosse's largest educational event and is set for Jan. 20-22, 2017, at the Baltimore Convention Center.

Prior to arriving at George Mason, Morgan served as an assistant coach for four years at the University of Virginia, her alma mater. She primarily worked with the defense and helped the Cavaliers to four straight NCAA tournament appearances. Morgan was the head coach at Howard University for two years before heading to Virginia. She continues to conduct summer camps for girls in non-traditional areas.

As a defender, Morgan played on Virginia teams that won the 2004 NCAA championship and reached the NCAA final on two other occasions. The Baltimore native twice earned a spot on the former U.S. Developmental team.
