The George Mason  Men's Tennis team competed in the Navy Invitational in Annapolis this weekend. The Patriots battled hard and finished the tournament with a 32-17 record in singles and doubles combined.

The highlight in singles was sophomore Giuliano Buzoianu making it to the finals of the D Flight before falling to Mahlanu of Georgetown. Jimmy Lange finished fifth in the A Flight and then teamed with Joe Hill to win the consolation doubles. Daniel Gutierrez won the consolation of the C Flight while Tanner Baine finished fifth in the C. Conor Moran and Aaron Capitel won the back draw of the B Doubles Flight.

"I was extremely happy with the results from this weekend, the guys battled hard against some of the tougher teams we've faced so far this fall," commented Assistant Coach James Davis. "Our fitness is improving as our third and final day at the tournament was our strongest showing. Throughout 4 singles and 3 doubles the patriots continued to fight at a high level, many of which reaching either the finals or consolation finals of their brackets.”

The men will host the Mason Invitational next Saturday and Sunday at the Mason tennis complex.
