The George Mason golf team finished 13
th at the Janney VCU Shootout held at the Country Club of Virginia in Richmond.
Sophomore Eric Edwards lead the Patriots in all three rounds, shooting 71-72-77 (220) on the par 72, 6,927 yard course. He finished tied for 22nd overall. Ellis Messian and Kyle Hart both finished tied for 74th with a 236 three-round total.
James Madison went wire to wire to end a three-year run by Virginia Tech as team champion. The win also marks the fifth straight year that a team from Virginia has won the VCU Shootout with UVA winning in 2011.
Maryland's Tom Harris ran away with the individual medalist honors by five strokes with a three-round 10-under par 206.
Next Up: The Patriots will host the two-day Patriot Intercollegiate beginning Sunday, September 27 at Laurel Hills Golf Club in Lorton, Va.
