George Mason rising sophomore Eric Edwards participated in the prestigious North and South Men's Amateur Golf Championship, an annual golf tournament held since 1901 at the Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, N.C. this past week. The 96-player field was chosen based upon their performance in national amateur championships and overall competitive record.
Edwards finished the three rounds of stroke play tied for 30th overall. He carded rounds of 77, 76 and 73 on the par 70, 7,198 yard Pinehurst No. 2 course. The Salisbury, N.C. native missed the cut for the 16 player match field by four strokes.
The top 16 players who qualified for match play will play two rounds a day until a champion is determined.
