Three Patriots men's tennis student-athletes, James Lange, Aaron Capitel and Tanner Baine have earned Atlantic 10 All-Conference accolades as voted on by the league's head coaches.
Sophomore James Lange was voted on the 12-member all-conference first team. The Peach Tree City, Ga native played both his singles and doubles matches from the top position for the Patriots compiling a 12-16 singles and 18-13 doubles record. He won a pivotal point in the match against Davidson at the A-10 Championship. He earned all-conference second team as a freshman.
Junior Aaron Capitel and Tanner Baine were voted on the all-conference second team. Capitel finished the 2014-15 campaign with a 16-18 record with most matches coming from the No. 2 singles position. He was 13-14 in doubles competition.
Tanner Baine was one of the Patriots top doubles competitors, finishing with a 17-10 record. He teamed up with freshman Daniel Gutierrez in all but one match. In singles action, Baine was 15-16 from the middle positions.
Capitel also earned accolades for his work in the classroom as a member of the all-academic team, which is voted on by the league's sports information directors. He is a two-time Mason Peter Sterns Provost Scholar Ahtlete, which recognizes the student-athletes who have earned at least 38 credit hours at Mason and have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 or better. He is majoring in Economics.
