The George Mason rowing team seeks its first-ever Atlantic 10 Conference Championship, competing for the title on Saturday, May 2 on the Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J.
The winner of the Atlantic 10 Championship will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Women's Rowing Championship, May 29-31, at the Sacramento State Aquatic Center in Gold River, California.
Preliminaries will begin at 8 a.m. with two heats each from the Varsity 4, Second Varsity 8 and the Varsity 8 wrapping up the morning beginning at 9:20 a.m. The top 3 from each heat will advance to the Grand Final, with the remaining boats going to the Petite Final. A points system will be used to determine the final standings.
Finals begin at 10:30 a.m.

UMass, the defending champion, recorded its seventh conference championship since 2003 last season. Rhode Island has won four championships (2013, 2012, 2010, 2008), while Saint Joseph's won in 2011. Last season, in its inaugural A-10 campaign, Mason finished 8th with 17 points.
