FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason softball team hosts its final non-conference series of the season against Norfolk State on Wednesday, April 29.  It will be a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m.

Norfolk State comes into this series on a three-game win streak after sweeping Coppin State last weekend.  The Patriots swept the Spartans last season in two very close games, including one that went nine innings.

Norfolk State is led by Megan Dunning with a batting average of .375 in 32 at bats.  Whitney Williams isn't too far behind with a .368 batting average and six homeruns in 76 at bats.  Liz Riley leads the pitching staff with a 3.96 ERA in 24 appearances.  Marissa Marrero is just behind her with a 4.69 ERA and a team-best seven wins.

The Patriots come into this game after falling in two of three games in a conference series against La Salle.  Brooke Blankenship was outstanding at the plate last week and batted .526 with two homeruns, seven RBI and six runs scored for the Patriots.  Casey Price also had a great week for Mason and raised her batting average to .323 after recording five hits and four RBI.

Casey Herring and Christina Gabriele both have eight wins in the circle to lead the Green and Gold, while Sarah Kleinfelter has a team-high two saves on the season.
