NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – For the second time this season senior John Williams has been named the Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week, announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.

Williams earns the honors after his complete game, four-hit shutout on Saturday in an important 5-0 win over George Washington. The Haymarket, Va. native walked to batters and struck out three and actually allowed hits to only two batters. Williams picked up his fifth win in the process.

A-10 Pitcher of the Week honors were donned upon Williams earlier this season after his seven shutout innings in another 5-0 victory over Kansas State. The Patriots begin action this week on Tuesday when they host UMBC before conference member Davidson travels to Fairfax this weekend.
