FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason softball team is set to host a conference series against St. Joseph's on Friday and Saturday. Due to weather, the doubleheader on Friday has been moved up to a noon start time. Most recently, the Patriots split a two-game series with Towson earlier this week in Fairfax.

Most recently, the Hawks won both games against the Patriots last season in Philadelphia. St. Joe's had a seven-game win streak snapped yesterday after falling to LIU Brooklyn, 11-9. The Hawks have yet to lose a single A-10 game, sweeping UMass and Rhode Island.
St. Joe's boasts eighth hitters, who have started at least 17 games, with over .300 batting averages. Leading the way is Sarah Yoos, who is batting an impressive .473, which ranks sixth in the A-10. Ashley Alden provides a lot of power for the Hawks with 10 homeruns already this season, tops in the conference.
The Hawks pitching staff is led by Madison Clarke, who is 14-2 with a 2.52 ERA this season, including 10 complete games.
Brooke Blankenship and Liz Seymour have been on fire for the Patriots, raising their batting averages to .344 and .321, respectively. They have also brought in a combined 36 RBI for the Patriots this season. Christina Gabriele, Sarah Kleinfelter, and Casey Herring all pitched in the doubleheader against Towson and gave up just one run in the two games.
