FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason softball team is set to continue conference play in a weekend series at Rhode Island. The Patriots most recently won one of three games at St. Bonaventure this past weekend.

The Rams snapped an 18-game losing streak with a 3-2 win over UMass Lowell on Wednesday this week. Megan Congro leads the team with a .278 batting average and 20 hits on the season. Jenna Cubello bats .268 and has a team-best 14 runs. Caitlin Kennedy leads the pitching staff with a 7.22 ERA. Kennedy has posted a 1-18 record in 26 games.
The Patriots continued their power hitting on the road at St. Bonaventure last weekend, hitting a combined five homeruns. Freshman Liz Seymour has been on fire lately, hitting two of the Patriots five homeruns last series and improving her season total to four. Seymour is second on the team with a .346 batting average and 24 RBI, trailing Brooke Blankenship in both categories, who bats .354 with 25 RBI. Casey Price has also raised her batting average to .316 and has added some power with two homeruns recently.
Christina Gabriele leads the Patriot pitching staff with a 4.58 ERA and six wins this season. Casey Herring has also provided six wins in 11 starts for Mason. Sarah Kleinfelter leads the Green and Gold with two saves on the season.
