AMHERST, VA – The George Mason Men's golf team completed day one of action at the Liberty Spring Invitational at the Poplar Grove Golf Course in Amherst, VA.  The Patriots shot back to back rounds of 309 giving them a total score of 618, 42 over par through the first two rounds.

Freshman Brock Kovach paced the Patriots through the first two rounds shooting rounds of 76 and 73 to tie him for 40^th place.  Senior Andrew Brenneman shot rounds of 74 and 79 to tie him for 64^th place. Zack Lauzon, Eric Edwards, and Trevor Tremps rounded out the five man lineup for the Patriots and will look to finish strong in the final round on Saturday.

Nationally ranked Oklahoma and North Carolina currently lead the field with the 10^th ranked Sooners leading with a 14 under par and the 19^th ranked Tar Heels five strokes back at 9 under par.
